Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defender Presnel Kimpembe has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury, according to the club's medical staff.

The Frenchman suffered the setback during PSG's 2-1 win over Marseille on Sunday and will undergo surgery in the coming days.

Kimpembe is one of PSG's most important players and his absence could have a significant impact on the team's chances of winning the Ligue 1 title this season.

He has been a key player for PSG since joining from Monaco in 2018 and has made more than 100 appearances for the club so far.

His injury comes at a crucial time for PSG, who are currently second in the league table and face tough matches against Rennes and Nice in the next few weeks.

However, there is still hope that Kimpembe may be able to return to action before the end of the season.

In the meantime,La Liga Stadium PSG will look to find a replacement for him and continue their pursuit of the league title.

The club will also need to manage without Kimpembe for the rest of the Champions League group stage, which begins on October 29th.

It remains to be seen how PSG will cope without their star defender, but they will undoubtedly miss his experience and leadership on the pitch.
